There’s a range of fantastic apps* available, the majority of which are free, which can help improve the health and wellbeing of you and your family.  Simply download what you need from your chosen app store.
 

Live healthier

NHS Smokefree app can help you stop smoking by providing daily support and motivation.  You can also track how many days you've been smoke free and see how much you're saving!

One You Drink Free Days app helps you choose when to have your drink free days and also provides reminders, support and practical advice to change your drinking habits for good.

Try Dry app helps you meet your alcohol goals, whether you're looking to cut down and have more drink free days or you want to stop drinking altogether.  You can track your units, calories and money saved, along with understanding your drinking patterns.
 

Be more active

EXi (iPrescribe Exercise) app offers a personalised 12 week physical activity plan, which gradually helps you increase your activity levels.

One You Active 10 app shows how much brisk walking you're doing and how you can do more.  It's easy to use and helps you set your goals for each day.

One You Couch to 5K app provides a weekly running plan and helps you track your progress.  You have a choice of coaches and it can also be downloaded as a podcast.

Under Armour Map My Run app is for beginners and advanced runners alike and offers a range of features and tools, to help you stay on track and motivated to hit your goals.  It can also offer customised training plans, personalised coaching tips and an online support community.

Under Armour Map My Walk app provides a range of features and tools, which can help you stay on track and keep motivated to hit your fitness goals.  It also offers an online support community.

Under Armour My Fitness Pal app helps you take control of your fitness goals, by logging exercise and activities and tracking your calorie intake. 
 

Eat healthier

Change4Life Food Scanner app enables you to scan bar codes to find out what’s really inside the food and drink you buy for you and your family.

Change4Life Smart Recipes app provides over 160 quick, tasty and healthy recipes for the whole family to enjoy.

One You Easy Meals app is a great way to help you try new, fun recipes, which provide easy, healthy meals for all the family.  You can also search recipes by specific meal times and create shopping lists.

Improve your mental health and wellbeing

Catch it app is a mood diary, which can help you better understand your moods by looking at problems in a different way, turning negative thoughts into positive ones and improving your mental wellbeing.

Cove app helps you create a personal music journal, which supports your emotional wellbeing and mental health.

distrACT app provides trusted information and links to additional support for those who are self-harming or feeling suicidal.

Feeling Good app is an audio based self-help positive mental training programme, which can help with stress, depression and anxiety, along with building confidence.

HealthUnlocked app can help you take control of your health and wellbeing and connect with people in similar situations, along with providing online support, resources and learning.

iPrevail app can connect you with others who are in a similar situation and know what you’re going through.  It can also offer interactive lessons, behavioural tools and track your progress.

Molehill Mountain app helps autistic people to better understand and self-manage their anxiety.

My Possible Self app aims to help you take control of your thoughts, feelings and behaviour, in order to reduce stress, anxiety and low mood.

Samaritans Self-Help app can help you keep track of how you're feeling, along with offering recommendations for things you can do to help yourself cope, feel better and stay safe in a crisis.

Stay Alive app is a suicide prevention resource, which can help you if you’re having suicidal thoughts.

Thrive app can help you manage stress, anxiety and related conditions.  You can use it to either relax before a stressful situation or as part of your regular routine. 

Worry Tree app can help you to record and manage your worries and anxiety on the go, based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.

Achieve better sleep

Calm app can help you achieve better sleep, stress less and relax more.

Pzizz app can help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep for longer and wake up feeling refreshed with more energy for your day. 
 

General wellbeing

Headspace app helps you learn how to meditate for a healthier, happier and more well-rested life with sessions on everything from stress and sleep to focus and anxiety.

Lumosity app can help you improve your memory, increase focus and feel sharper with personalised brain training.

The NHS also has a wide range of apps available, covering everything from first aid for babies and children, self-help plans to help with long term conditions and helping young people reduce the urge to self-harm to helping with cancer related fatigue, sharing memories and exploring objects from the past for those with dementia and helping students feel less stressed and more confident.

ORCHA is a health and care app review service, which tests a wide range of health and wellbeing apps to ensure they’re safe, secure and easy to use.  They provide information on apps covering everything from sleeping, smoking and stress to asthma, diabetes and weight loss.

Ten Percent Happier app helps you to meditate for a happier and healthier you with guidance from top mindfulness experts. 

what3words app is a global addressing system, which makes it really simple to communicate an exact location, so you’ll never get lost again!  It’s also used by a number of emergency services to help find people faster, if they don’t know where they are.
