Avenbury Care Farm

Avenbury Care Farm is a rural activity centre in Bishops Frome, for adults with physical and learning disabilities, mental health and additional needs.

Our purpose built care farm is completely wheelchair accessible. The 3.5 acre site comprises of a vegetable garden with 12 raised beds, a small orchard, sensory gardens, animal paddocks and an indoor facility for communal activities, arts and crafts, woodworking and a training kitchen. Accessible opportunitites for animal care activities are available with our friendly sheep, pygmy goats, Kune Kune pigs, ponies and rabbits.

Our disabled friendly bathroom facilities include a shower room with a hydraulic changing cradle and mobile hoist.

We aim to provide a safe and friendly place where people can learn new skills, make positive connections with people, animals and the environment, improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing and create opportunities for people to learn and achieve together.

Open on Monday-Friday from 9.30am-3.30pm. Participants can book a half day £25 or a full day £40. Shorter sessions and group sessions can be arranged. We offer a free taster session for people to come and see if the care farm is for them. Contact us directly for an application form or apply via the website.
